Deanna Ibbitson, MSc (Nutrition), CPT
I am a BCRPA Certified Personal Trainer with a Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition from the University of British Columbia. I have contributed nutrition articles to the Common Ground magazine and The Georgia Straight website, provided recipes and nutrition information for the British Columbia Association of Farmer’s Markets website, and assisted in the 10 year update of Becoming Vegan, by Vesanto Melina, RD and Brenda Davis, RD. Since 2009, I have been studying the art of Muay Thai (a.k.a. Thai boxing) and am now enjoying teaching others as an assistant instructor at a local kickboxing gym.
My philosophy is that a healthy body is achieved through a balance of many factors including nutrition and physical activity and that both food and exercise are meant to be enjoyed. I understand that every individual is different and most importantly, that health is not about obtaining a society-influenced size. My mission is to help educate, support and motivate my clients to make positive lifestyle changes through becoming more physically active and making nutritional food choices. Using sound, scientific knowledge (along with some tasty recipes) I will help guide people towards becoming the best and healthiest they can be.
